What is Massage?
Considered one of the oldest healing methods, massage is the manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons and ligaments) to enhance a person’s health and well-being.
What are the benefits?
One of the immediate benefits of massage is a feeling of deep relaxation and calm. This occurs because massage prompts the release of endorphins – the brain chemical that produces feelings of wellbeing. Levels of stress hormones, such as adrenaline, cortisol and norepinephrine, are also reduced.
